David Miranda is a privacy activist and journalist who has covered stories based on leaks by US whistle-blower Edward Snowden. The 28-year-old Brazilian citizen was detained with his partner Glenn Greenwald for nine hours at Heathrow Airport under anti-terror laws for carrying files related to information obtained by the US whistleblower Edward Snowden. David is the Brazilian coordinator of the campaign for asylum to Snowden in Brazil (snowdentreaty.org), raising the pressure on Governments around the world to protect human rights, freedom of expression and information, and the rights of whistleblowers and journalists.
