Governor of Nariño
Camilo Romero is Governor of the department of Nariño in Colombia. In 2010 was Senator of the Republic, becoming one of the youngest congressmen of the country. It was considered in its constitutional period like one of the ten best senators, being a symbol of renewal of the national policy. In 2014 he was Pre-Presidential candidate for the Green Alliance Party. He is currently Co-President of the same party, a space from which he runs the School of Political Innovation, a project that convened more than 6,000 people at a national and international level in his first course “New Trends in Political Innovation”.
He studied Social Communication and Journalism at the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente and from that time he led his political project “Tienen Huevo”, an irreverent movement that questioned the way of doing politics in the country. He later graduated as a Magister in Political Studies from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Bogotá. Among his academic productions is the book “Of the kidnapping and other deaths”, in which he highlighted the absence of a State policy in the face of the scourge of kidnapping.
